Parking Permits

For most of the beaches in the Hamptons you just can't pull up to and park your car. You can, but they will ticket you unless you have a parking permit or park it in the beach lot if there is one. Obey or pay thats what I say (hey it kind of rhymes). Believe me you don't want to have a hundred and fifty dollar day at the beach. You can apply for a parking permit at the town hall for the area your staying in. Permits are usually 100 dollars for the season for non residents meaning you dont live there year round and 10 dollars for year round residents. Do your self a favor and get a parking permit before the summer starts it will pay off and you can split it with your house mates. Oh yeah dont worry about Fire Island since there are no cars allowed even better. Here's is a list of some beaches and their parking regulations.

Very important make sure that you dont have to many cars in front of your house or on the side of the road some of the towns are pretty strict about this and will ticket you. I think you are allowed only a certain amount cars on the your property, depending on the size of your house, I'll get back to you on that later once I find out the specifics. So remember happy motoring and take your old beat up bike when ever possible.
